CARISCA’s fourth annual Supply Chain Research Summit was held June 4-6, 2024, in Accra, Ghana, on the theme “Africa’s Supply Chain Resilience for Economic Transformation.”
The summit is central to CARISCA’s goal to integrate Africa’s supply chain research into mainstream research and strengthen African supply chain capacity. It is the largest academic supply chain conference on the continent, with nearly 600 participants from 28 countries in person and online.
“The summit is a can’t-miss event for supply chain management scholars from Africa and around the world,” says Dale Rogers, CARISCA’s executive director. “In only a few years, it has become the place where new research ideas relevant to Africa are developed and presented.”
Supply chain students, scholars, practitioners and policymakers presented a record number of 116 papers at the summit. Attendees were from over 230 organizations, including 72 higher education institutions.
In addition to the paper presentations, the conference featured three keynote speakers, a journal editors panel, a women’s panel, a session on the Ghana Logistics Managers Index, the PhD Dissertation Awards competition, and much more.
