Business Development
Caty Hirst is responsible for business development for W.P. Carey’s Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain Africa, with a goal to connect policymakers, business leaders and academics in the United States and in Africa on improving supply chains.
Caty began her career as a journalist, covering government affairs and conducting investigative reporting in Texas. She then worked as an international business journalist, eventually moving to Equatorial Guinea and becoming passionate about social development, energy equity and creating infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has experience in content management, event programming, business development and research.
Caty is an avid globetrotter, having lived in France, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa, and having traveled throughout 40 countries worldwide. She loves delving in and learning about new cultures, especially through food and language. She has her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and her Master’s in International Journalism from Baylor University.
